Slicer settings to check after changing a nozzle

After a nozzle change, update the printer and slicer to the actual installed orifice and follow the maker’s calibration steps.

Before you rely on a result

A documented product or fit statement is only as specific as its source. Match the exact model, installed hotend, revision, and required adapter before acting.

Set the installed diameter

A preset for a 0.4 mm nozzle should not be carried over unchanged to a 0.6 mm nozzle. Check the printer hardware menu and slicer profile, including line width and layer-height guidance.

Recheck motion and temperature

Different nozzle materials and flow designs can change the recommended profile. Use manufacturer settings rather than assuming a speed or temperature benefit from a product name.

Verify before a long print

Follow the printer’s replacement and calibration instructions. Check leaks, first-layer behavior, and extrusion at a safe test scale before relying on the new setup.

See Prusa’s official nozzle and slicer guidance for its supported Nextruder models.

Find the exact record

Browse printer models, filament products, and nozzle products, then check the scoped relation and linked manufacturer source.
